These boots are made for catwalking

It’s that time of the year again when lingerie-clad Angels strut their stuff on the most envied catwalk. The Victoria’s Secret show has become a Fashion Week all in itself, and not only are the models and their wings an important part of the show, but also the musical guests who provide the beats and the tunes up on the catwalk. Meow.

But for moi, the shoes are the most exciting bit. And this year, Brian Atwood follows in their footsteps of Nicholas Kirkwood and Sophia Webster by designing footwear for the Angels.

The designer, who is very active on Instagram (Instactive?), gave a sneak peek of his spectacular shoes.

Inspired by the Stars and Stripes, the electrifying blue velvet Star-Spangled Banner (high) knee-high boots (or cuissardes, as they’re called en français) are modeled by Taylor Hill’s amazonian legs. Rumour has it even Wonder Woman wants to ditch her classic flat red boots for these… Not if I get to them first! POW!

But I think the camel brown lace-up Dreamcatcher boots look more practical, n’est-ce pas? (Um, do I really want to be practical? That would be a first.) Modeled by Angel Candice Swanepoel, they are truly haute and I cannot wait to see the rest of the shoes at the annual show tonight.
